We had two great opportunities Saturday, Sept. 28th: First, to gather with you, as sisters in our Katy Stake to share friendship, fun and dinner; Second, to then hear our General RS Presidency and President Monson speak to us. His story of the Mother who felt Heavenly Father’s love through another sister bringing homemade bread is exactly what we are trying to do in our Katy Stake. We want to be the person Heavenly Father can trust to follow the promptings of the spirit to guide us in helping our brothers and sisters in need.
Katy Stake Relief Society Challenge: Sisters if you didn’t try this yet, it’s not too late to start something “great”! Sisters, if you did begin this “simple daily practice”…continue…and then include your family!
“One Drop at a Time”
Elder Ballard’s Conference Talk: “Be Anxiously Engaged”
“There is one simple daily practice that can make a difference for every member of the church. That simple practice is in your morning prayers each new day, ask Heavenly Father TO GUIDE YOU TO RECOGNIZE AN OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE ONE OF HIS PRECIOUS CHILDREN. Then go throughout the day with your heart full of faith and love, looking for someone to help. Stay focused, just like the honeybees focus on the flowers from which to gather nectar and pollen. If you do this, your spiritual sensitivities will be enlarged and you will discover opportunities to serve that you never before realized were possible…"
“Your SIMPLE, DAILY ACTS OF SERVICE may not seem like much in and of themselves, but when considered collectively they become just like the one-twelfth teaspoon of honey contributed by a single bee to the hive.”
We’d like to thank all those who helped setting up, preparing, serving and enjoying the dinner prior to the General RS Broadcast.
DEEP CLEANING at the Stake Center: We appreciate Nottingham County, Katy 2nd, and Katy 4th wards for such a well-planned and concerted effort of cleaning the Stake Center. They vacuumed behind everything, scrubbed, re-stained wood, cleaned upholstery stains, cleaned out old junk, and more. Overall they did a wonderful job of making the building look and smell inviting for all those who use it and for friends with whom we want to share the blessings of the gospel. BIG THANKS!
Salad Dressing recipe: We had several requests for the salad dressing recipe that we used on Saturday evening. Thank you to Katy 3rd for providing the delicious recipe on their blog. Please share this with any of your sisters who may be interested.Dressing
