Missionary Leadership Plan from Stake

Actions Leaders Can Take to
Hasten the Work of Salvation

  • Create a Ward Mission Plan where you set specific goals for missionary work and outline the when, where and how of the ward’s missionary labors.
  • Call an outstanding Ward Mission Leader who has a passion for missionary work and the time to devote to this sacred cause.
  • Call an adequate number of Ward Missionaries who also have passion and time. Set clear expectations for their weekly activities.
  • Hold weekly Missionary Coordination Meetings with the full-time missionaries, ward missionaries and key representatives from priesthood quorums and auxiliaries.
  • Make Missionary Work a priority in Ward Council and Ward PEC meetings. Discuss the progress of investigators, new converts and targeted less active members.
  • Hold a Sunday School class on how to do missionary work. Cycle all ward members through the class. Teach the why and practice the how.
  • Host more activities that are missionary friendly and give members an opportunity to invite their non-member friends and family to come and participate.
  • Sponsor at least two service projects each year that impact your community and give members a chance to involve their non-member neighbors and less active members.
  • Get new members to the temple as soon after their baptism as possible. Have your Family History Consultants work with them to prepare their own names for the temple.
  • Assign your best home and visiting teachers to new converts and targeted less active members. Make sure these people are visited at least once per month.
